Built on the edge of a headland with unlimited sea views, this secluded vacation compound resulted from the renovation and expansion of a much smaller house, already located on site.

The new design smoothly integrates new and old structures, following landscape contours and framing the magnificent views from the property.
The size and steep inclination of the site suggested the creation of additional, small buildings, instead of a single mass; in this spirit, a new extension, developing in slender wings which reach out to the environment as if emerging from the rock, is connected to the original home through a landscaped pathway, beginning from the private helipad. The feel of the new compound is that of a small village, rather than a standalone residential building
The renovation features locally sourced materials, including marble and stone. References to the local island vernacular abound, with whitewashed walls leaving visible their textured, stone structure, arched pathways directing circulation and vistas, and wooden pergolas resting upon stuccoed, round pillars. Extended use of pebble mosaics in the outdoor areas, and rustic details in the interior, including sculptural bathrooms and pebble linings on the staircases, create a vacation setting immersed in the spirit of its place, with a restrained, modern sensibility.
